K24 development

Finally i received my CNC machine chassis. need to find some time to start mounting and using it.

great finish and solid construction.

before i start working on the head, i like to get some aire velocity readings to find high speed spots and also death or low spots. the highest reading was around 310 fps, which is far from k20 readings. k20 mas around 387 fps some spots.

 Another way to find death spots. this is a flow ball. this method consists in disturb the air in the spots you consider to see if CFM reads higher or not.

i managed to obtain a gain of 34CFM. not bad for the first day

K24 head

started today working on this head. this will be a NA setup aiming for 300cv horsepower.
first of all i need to flow in stock  form to get a flow baseline.

here are the stock form flow numbers. exhaust side flows a bit higher up to .4" valve lift, at 0.5"

the intake starts flowing higher.

compared to a k20a head, the readings are lower, about 20CFM.

B16 intake dome

after holidays i got sick an entire week, so today a had a long shower an a morning drive through the mountain i worked a little bit on this prototype and prepared the work for next week, a K24 head.
finished the dome allowing 314cc extra for the plenum.
